From sanitizing to stocking the right supplies, here’s what you need to know.
During this health crisis, it’s important to revisit your cleaning routine to make sure you’re doing what you can to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your members. The way we work is different now, and members are expecting a higher standard of cleanliness more than ever. We want to help, so we’ve put together some clear step-by-step instructions, based on the recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and from the certified training program provided by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on preparing the workplace, which the Codi team followed.
Step-by-step checklists and education
In this guide, we’ll share the cleaning protocol with specific guidance on how to clean, what to sanitize, and what supplies to have on hand. We’ve broken the process down into five clear steps, so you’ll know exactly what to do and when to do it.
- Prepare for safer cleaning
- Clean dust and debris
- Sanitize with disinfectant
- Check your room-by-room checklists
- Reset the room
You’ll find detailed instructions for each of the steps in the cleaning handbook along with cleaning checklists for every room in your space. We’ve also included COVID-19-specific recommendations, like how to help protect yourself while cleaning.
Please keep in mind that the cleaning guidelines may be updated over time as expert guidance evolves—Codi’s enhanced cleaning protocol is based on current scientific knowledge and prioritizes your health and well-being along with that of the overall community.
A new way to show guests you’re going the extra mile
We know that cleanliness is more important to members than ever—and now you can show them it’s important to you too. We’re asking all hosts to read through an overview of the protocol and take a short quiz to show that they understand the guidelines and commit to the new cleaning protocol. Members will know you've agreed to follow an enhanced cleaning routine.
We know these guidelines will add time to your cleaning routine. But by adopting the protocol, you’re taking important steps toward helping to protect yourself, your members, and the entire Codi community. And to make things easier, we've summarized what you need to know right here in the Help Center and in your Host Dashboard.

We hope you find these cleaning guidelines useful as you navigate hosting during this difficult time. We’ll continue to update our recommendations as the situation evolves. In the meantime, please be sure to review any guidelines published by your local government or health authorities.
